Hair Shows and Movies and Elections, OH MY!

It has been a busy week! I attended the Maly's Hair Show in Grand Rapids on the 2nd & 3rd. It was awesome! I was able to take a lot of very interesting classes, including a hands on cutting class. I leatned some really cool new techniques, the actual cuts that we did on the mannikins were a little crazy, but it's great to get the creative juices flowing! The highlight of the week-end for me (other than cramming my brain with lots of great idea's & new skills!) was to meet one of my "Hair Hero's" Martin Parsins. I was able to go to his Updo class and got to meet him too! I was so very excited! I also sat in on some great organization and business classes, so if you see some changes in the salon or how we are doing things, were just trying some new idea's out and let us know how it works out for you ( you are the most important person to our business!)

On Nov. 4th (yes Election Day) I had the opourtunity to do hair and make-up for an independant film that was being shoot in Southfield. It was a neat expierence to see how everything happens. The film is based in the 1990's, so yes her hair is a little outdated! I really enjoyed doing this and hopefully I'll be able to expand out and work on another movie one day.

On to the Election! I did get a chance to go out and vote, and I hope you did too! We offered a complimentary haircut for voters (not to be outdone by Starbucks and Cold Stone Creamery). We had a nice turn out and got to meet alot of new people, we hope to see them all again!
